Creating your Low Cost Power account takes just a few minutes. You'll provide some basic information about your home and your current electricity account so we know which utility serves you and what market you're in.

There's no credit card required, you can cancel anytime, and no obligation. The service is free and it stays free.

Once you're registered, our monitoring begins automatically. You don't need to do anything else.

Step 2

We monitor rates on your behalf

Our team continuously tracks electricity supply rates from licensed partner suppliers in your area. We compare available partner rates against your utility's current price-to-compare the benchmark rate your utility publishes so consumers can evaluate alternatives.

Rates shift with the market, the season, and other factors. We stay on top of these changes so you don't have to.

We only look for rates that meet or beat your utility's rate we never switch you to something more expensive.

Step 3

We notify you when we find a better rate

When we identify a supply rate fromone of our partners that meets or beats your utility's price-to-compare, we'll send you a notification by email. The notification will include clear details about the new rate, the supplier, and what you can expect your savings to be.

You stay informed and in control we explain everything before anything changes on your account.

Not every month will have a better rate available. If the market doesn't offer something better than your utility, we'll tell you that too and keep watching.

We handle the supplier switch you don't lift a finger

Once a better rate is identified, we coordinate the supplier switch on your behalf. This is handled entirely behind the scenes. There's no paperwork for you to sign, no phone calls to make, and no forms to fill out.

The switch typically takes effect within 1–2 billing cycles. Your electricity continues to be delivered by your utility company without any interruption. The only thing that changes is which company supplies your electricity and what rate appears on your bill.

What is electricity deregulation and why does it matter to you?

For most of electricity's history, your utility company did everything: generated power, delivered it through power lines, and charged you for all of it. There was no choice.

Energy deregulation changed that. In states like Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and New Jersey, the government separated the electricity delivery business from the electricity supply business. Now, independent suppliers can compete to sell you the electricity commodity itself — at a lower price — while your utility still handles the physical delivery.
